Health and wellness...![]() ...have been my passion for most of my adult life. In my 20s, I overcame my own serious health concerns by turning to alternative healing methods when conventional western medicine failed me (and many of my loved ones) time and time again. I was able to heal my mysterious and dangerously high blood pressure, frequent headaches, neck pain, depression, and post-Lyme's Disease related ailments by actively researching, experimenting, and making simple, lasting changes in my diet, lifestyle, and thought processes.
As a Certified Holistic Health Coach, I find great pleasure in helping individuals and groups find lasting ways to help themselves feel good and enjoy life to the fullest. There is no longer any doubt that how we think and what we eat directly affect our overall health and happiness. It really is as simple as we wish it was. I am available in person, via telephone, or through "Facetime" to work with clients who are seeking to achieve vibrant health and wellness. This is accomplished by focusing on specific concerns such as weight loss, body image, energy and motivation, mood issues, sugar addiction, children's health, stress management, relationships, career, food, and food cravings and addictions. Every body is different and therefore requires a specialized approach. I received my training to practice Holistic Health Coaching at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City, the world's largest nutrition school, in partnership with the State University of New York Purchase College, and am board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventative health. During my two year program, I studied over 100 different dietary theories, combining the knowledge of ancient and traditional philosophies with modern concepts, practical lifestyle management techniques, and cutting-edge coaching methods. I am honored to have studied under many of my own personal heroes, amazing and well-known health and wellness professionals such as Mark Hyman, MD; Andrew Weil, MD; John Douillard, PhD; Deepak Chopra, MD; Walter Willett, MD; Marion Nestle, PhD, MPH; Sally Fallon; Howard Lyman; Annemarie Colbin, PhD; Lynn Goldstein, MS, RD, CDN; Paul Pitchford, MS; Neal Barnard, MD; David Katz, MD; and many other leading researchers and nutrition authorities. The progressive Integrative Nutrition school of thought is right up my alley and I feel very much at home in the company of colleagues, students, and faculty as we work together to change the world for the better. I currently live in beautiful southwest Connecticut. In my free time, I enjoy adventures with my kiddos, hiking, biking, skiing, yoga, gardening, reading, music, films and theater, museums, travel, and research. I'm a culture junkie and find people and life endlessly fascinating. I believe that we all create our own reality, whether we like it or not, and I very much enjoy playing with that concept! |
